The way it works is a perpetrator (usually already in jail) calls an office and cons a gullible employee into transferring him or her to an outside line. The perpetrator then starts making calls that are charged to the owner of the PBX. In the most common version of this scam, the scam artist claims to be a service technician "repairing" the phone lines and asks the employee to dial 90# so he can test the line. If your business doesn’t have a PBX system this scam will not work on you. But if you are using a PBX in your office, take the time to educate your employees so you don’t become a victim.
